About the Role

OnePointFive is seeking an Associate Director – Asia Pacific (APAC) Region to lead the delivery and growth of climate services, finance, technology, and training across the region. This role will also spearhead a major multi-year climate technical assistance program in the region , while simultaneously driving the commercial expansion of OPF’s advisory and wider enterprise training offerings.

In addition to the primary responsibilities, the role will represent OPF’s regional presence in Asia Pacific and may support additional client projects, business development, and strategic partnerships across key markets such as Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and the broader APAC region. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to OPF’s growing portfolio of climate advisory and training projects in one of the most dynamic regions for climate finance and sustainability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • This role reports directly to the CEO, with the potential to transition under the leadership of an APAC Partner or Regional Director as the team expands.

  • Oversee the strategic expansion and delivery of OPF’s climate advisory, finance, and enterprise training portfolios across the Asia Pacific Region, with a focus on key markets.

  • Identify and capture new market opportunities through strategic outbound outreach, accelerating OPF’s regional growth via new partnerships and client development.

  • Manage junior team members & lead on the delivery of a portfolio of climate services, technology, finance and training projects, ensuring all workstreams align with OPF’s quality standards and the client’s long-term sustainability goals.

  • Provide expert counsel on climate finance & ESG strategic initiatives to regional fund managers, translating technical findings into actionable strategies.

  • Lead presentations to senior stakeholders (e.g. C-Suite, Investment Committees), providing the strategic rationale and technical justification for proposed ESG-related interventions and investments.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal teams, clients, and project partners, ensuring strong relationships across stakeholders.

  • Oversee regional project budgets, resource allocation, and team performance, ensuring that all contracted deliverables meet timelines, impact, and financial targets.

  • Represent OPF at strategic regional events and conferences (e.g., climate finance) on an as-needed basis, acting as a key point of contact to cultivate stakeholder and partner relationships.

  • Direct the development and delivery of enterprise-level sustainability training, ensuring content is tailored to the needs of regional financial institutions and corporate leadership.

  • Lead and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and professional growth within the regional practice.

  • Comfortable to work on non-APAC-related projects and initiatives as needed by the company

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Location: Must be based within the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, preferably Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines, but broader Asia Pacific region also accepted

  • Master’s degree or higher in Sustainable Finance, Environmental Management, Economics, or a related field. (Equivalent senior-level experience may be considered).

  • Experience professionally or academically in one or more non-APAC countries working on or studying environment or climate-related topics

  • Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience in sustainability consulting, climate finance, climate entrepreneurship, or related fields.

  • Deep knowledge of ESG frameworks, standards and regulations (e.g. IFC Performance Standards, GHG Protocol, TCFD, ISSB, SFDR, etc.)

  • Deep understanding of sustainability challenges, regulatory landscapes, and market dynamics within the Asia Pacific region

  • Proven experience leading technical or climate finance workstreams, managing high-stakes engagements with DFIs, fund managers, donor agencies, and private sector actors.

  • Experience designing and delivering technical assistance programs to enhance organizational ESG/climate capabilities.

  • Experience designing and delivering enterprise-level training programs, preferably sustainability training.

  • Exceptional presentation skills with a proven track record of briefing Investment Committees, C-suite stakeholders, and finance representatives.

  • Advanced quantitative & analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data sets into strategic recommendations for senior investment leadership.

  • Proactive in improving operational processes and knowledge management to enhance efficiency.

  • Native or professional-level English fluency, written and verbal, with a proven track record of briefing C-suite stakeholders. (IELTS Score of at least 7.0)

  • Strong leadership in managing project teams and fostering a collaborative organizational culture.

  • Highly disciplined and comfortable working remotely with significant autonomy while maintaining some time zone overlap with globally distributed team, headquartered in New York

Travel Requirements

This role may require regular travel within the Asia-Pacific region, as well as the ability to effectively coordinate with the New York-based team across multiple time zones.

Compensation and Start Date

  • Salary: Commensurate with experience and competitive with local market conditions

  • Start date May 1st 2026, subject to availability of candidate

  • Contract Duration: Full-time employee position, 6 month probation period depending on country-by-country labor laws

  • Work Authorization: Legal right to work in at least one country within Asia-Pacific, preferably Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines, but broader Asia Pacific region also accepted
