Due Diligence on Climate Technology Venture for Pre-Series A Investment

OnePointFive worked with a Family Office Impact VC fund to provide commercial and technology due diligence on an artificial intelligence and machine learning climate risk software start-up for a Pre-Series A investment.

We conducted due diligence on the commercial and AI/ML technology capabilities of the target startup alongside their direct and indirect competitors. This included an assessment of the target startup’s technology stack & roadmap, climate predictive analytics, and scenario modelling capabilities. As we analyzed the competitor landscape, we assessed the market opportunity, impact potential, team capabilities, and growth strategy of the target company.

We collected comparable company data and evaluated the target startup against key quantitative and qualitative metrics of competitors. Through this mapping exercise, we determined potential risks and threats to the target startup’s short- and long-term success. We assessed the potential for the target startup to succeed in the market relative to competitors, and identified risks & challenges summarizing investment attractiveness.

This led to our final recommendation report where we provided key commercial and climate technology insights for integration into the fund's investment memo for approval by the family office’s investment committee.
