The live, interaction labs are where you'll work through the hands-on activities in a group setting, get real-time feedback, and discuss the provided case study with other learners. While the lab materials are available to you to complete asynchronously, we recommend joining the live sessions if you can!

Both — but practically so. A full engineering-grade LCA can take companies months to complete, so we don't use specialist tools like SimaPro or OpenLCA in this course. Instead, we use accessible tools like the 2030 Calculator to help you genuinely understand how each component of a life cycle assessment works and connects.
By the end of the interactive lab, you'll have worked through a real product scenario (a sample skincare company) where you'll:
Measure and evaluate the current packaging
Quantify the environmental impacts of alternative packaging
Evaluate three supply chain changes, weighing emissions beyond just CO2, alongside green product redesign principles
So while you won't be producing a full-grade LCA report, you will leave with hands-on experience making the kinds of trade-off decisions that real teams wrestle with.
